SimpleMind − Mind Mapping App Reviews

Its very easy to create great looking mind maps with this app on both my laptop and my iPad! Its great that I can easily share maps created on my iPad with my laptop but, cant seem to go the other way (cant share from my laptop to iPad). If this woked Id easily give this app 5 stars...

its very good. I use it for school all the time and it is great to impress teachers. It is nice if you keep notes in it and it is easy to study from because you can colour code.

Its good and easy to use. It would be nice to have some more options for text, or options for adding extra shapes or other graphics. It would also be nice to export as a JPEG or PNG.

All that is possible is what you see in the screenshots, nodes with children, that is all.

Extremely simple, eye pleasing mind mapping application. Helped me sort out my personal usage of tags in Aperture and my photography workflow. Now using it for brainstorming projects at work, identifying issues, solutions, challenges. Love the cross platform capabilities, and export format support. Great value in the free version, though you will be sorely tempted to upgrade to the pro and get the desktop version. Kudos to the development team.

Good basic mind mapping software. No bells and whistles. All nodes have the option to add notes. Only annoying feautre is that you cant break up a note, so not good when you have a number of smaller points you wish to list - maybe a bug that will be fixed soon. Overal pretty decent.

I love this tool! In the last month, Ive made 12 mindmaps with this program. I use it to brainstorm, to do pre-writing to get ideas out, to document discussions, to create summaries, and more. Ive used online mindmapping tools before because they were free but this program is even better! You can make as many diagrams as you want and the layout is simple! If youre looking for a great, simple mindmapping tool this is a good place to start. :) ~A happy customer

I got this as a replacement for mindjets mind manager and i am so glad i did. the free version is fantastic and is easy to use. the upgrade does everything i need more. I use it for planning marketing campaigns, websites, general brainstorming and more. do ge the ios versions too, worth the upgrade there.

I have really enjoyed using this app. It is very useful for organizing my work, and jotting down ideas. Overall, its a very decent way to record your thoughts down.

This is a good app, but the pics show you being able to cross-link (join two ideas together) but the free verson you dont have this option. I like it, but not being able to cross-link makes it useless for me.

This application work well enough. Nodes can get pretty cluttered as they can’t reorganized themselves. Also, the maps are saved somewhere rather than let you specify the location of the files (I like to keep maps in related folder along with other documents). I’ve been trying it out for a few maps, and will use this again for the near future. I can’t quite find a way to make cross-references yet, so it is either impossible or buried somehwere I didn’t look yet.

SimpleMind has a lot of potential, but mind mapping only works well if you can enter topics without taking your hands off the keyboard, which it doesnt do. Navigating with the arrow keys is counterintuitive, I finally figured how it works (up/down to navigate between siblings, left to go to the parent, right to go to children) but my brain refuses to adapt to this scheme and expects arrows to navigate directionally. Also, the arrow keys stop working after you edit a topics text. You HAVE to click somewhere to get keys working again.

Simple and effective app. I like the fact that I can transfer mind maps from my phone to the Mac. I would love it if they added auto-sync, instead of doing it over wifi so that all mind-maps were automatically synced to all devices at all times. Other than that- its awesome- love it!

I use this app for sorting my thoughts when writing assignments for school. It really helps me visualize my ideas, and chunk them into better categories so they flow better. I can then write out a brief outline based on my SimpleMind web, and the entire writing process has become not only quicker, but also more efficient and enjoyable! Would most definitely recommend to anyone who has a lot of writing to do, or who has trouble expanding their thoughts.

I have been using this application for a couple of weeks and it works very well for me and meets most of my requirements. The feature I would like to see on it that would be helpful is the ability to cross link sub objects.

Easy and fun to use. This app really helps me gather my ideas in a productive way. It is really useful for problem solving and brainstorming. All my projects now begin with SimpleMind.
